As Lorrie Moore says in How to Become a Writer, “First, try to be something, anything, else.” Stephen King begins his memoir, On Writing, with an extensive account of his life, reminding us that a writer’s journey is deeply personal and shaped by more than just the craft — it’s driven by an innate need to tell their story.
